When a cock 24 is opened liquid passes from pipe 13 through valve 10 to pipe 16, piston 11 closing port 17. Rotations of flow meter 1 are transmitted by selsyn 2 to advance counters 5 and 6 and step counter 7 backwards. When the three highest denominations 22 of counter 7 reach zero switches close to close valve 18 electromagnetically. The rise in pressure in chamber 12 lifts piston 11 and valve 10 to reduce supply. When the lowest wheel 21 of counter 7 reaches zero valve 19 is likewise closed whereupon piston 11 and valve 10 rise further to stop delivery. The amount dispensed is then printed for delivery to the customer.
