Abstract

1319764 Valves BRITISH OXYGEN CO Ltd 2 Oct 1970 [9 Oct 1969] 49693/69 Heading F2V Control valve device for a gas bottle, comprises a valve body 2 which houses a shut-off valve 4 and a minimum-pressure valve 6, in series between an outlet (82), Fig. 2 (not shown), and a passage 8 for communication with the bottle. Both the shut-off valve and the minimum-pressure valve have movable heads 40, 26 which are designed to be lifted off corresponding seats 56, 24 solely by the application to the outlet (82) of a source of gas at a relatively high pressure to enable the bottle to be refilled. The device includes an opening 72 for a bursting disc, and a residual pressure indicator button plunger 12, 14. The shut-off valve has a stem 68 engaged by a key-operated plunger 70. In a modification, this plunger is operated by a hand wheel (80).
