[Class 12 (i)] [See also Group XXXV] For cooling the commutator c of a dynamoelectric machine, the end bearing b has a substantially cylindrical exten. sion d closely surrounding the commutator, and cooling ribs e are provided on the outer end face of the bearing upon which air is blown by a fan k mounted on the rotor. The brushes g are shut off from the outside by a sheet metal cover h. The fan vanes k and the ribs e extend radially and a cover i fixed to the bearing protects the fan.
