Abstract
407,532. Screw fans. ELECTROFAN GES., 113, Reinickendorferstrasse, Berlin. March 23, 1933, No. 8855. Convention date, Jan. 18. [Class 110 (i).] A small permanent magnet stator motor, more particularly for a pocket fan, occupies the upper portion of a tubular casing which also contains a battery or accumulator for supplying the motor. In the form shown, the. blades 31 are secured in their inoperative position by the flanged margin 22<1> of a ring 22 which is slidable on the casing 1 containing the motor and the battery 6. In this position a contact 17 in the motor circuit rests on an insulator 19, but as the sleeve 22 is moved downwards the blade ends are first released and then contact 17 engages a contact strip 20 secured to the ring 22 to start the motor and cause the blades to fly out to the position shown in Fig. 3. The blades 31, which may be cut from strip steel of curved section, have lugs 32 engaging pivots in slots 33 in a cap 29, these slots being twisted relatively to the axis of rotation. Specification 407,533, [Group XXXV], is referred to.
