Abstract

463,029. Dynamos. FORD MOTOR CO., Ltd. (Ford Motor Co.) Sept. 28, 1936, No. 26295. [Class 35] Casings; cooling; polepieces and yokes.-In a generator of the type comprising a tubular casing, part of which, forming the field-magnet yoke, is thicker than the remainder, which encloses the commutator, the field-magnet poles are cast in one piece with the corresponding portion of the casing. The casing 12 is secured by bolts 28 to heads 10, 13, carrying the machine bearings, the head 10 being cast with arms 11 by which the generator is secured to an engine &c. The thick portion 20 of the casing is of the cross-section shown in Fig. 2, polepieces 22 being cast integral with it. The driving-pulley 24 is provided on its inner side with fan blades 25 to drive air through the machine.
