Abstract

476,291. Screw fans. GETTWART, K. July 21, 1937, No. 20237. Convention date, Nov. 3, 1936. [Class 110 (i)] An electric table fan has a casing 1 carrying a battery of dry cells 28 driving a low-voltage motor 5 swivelled on an axis perpendicular to the fan shaft 11 and fixed in any oblique position by screws passing through the casing into the pivots. The cage 17 is mounted on a sleeve 15 and consists of wires secured to a hub disc 18, an outer ring 16, and a two-part disc 19 which may contain cotton wool impregnated with perfume. The sleeve 15 is mounted on a tube 9 fixed to the motor frame and surrounding the shaft 11. The upper part 2 of the casing carries a switch 21. The lower part 3 carries an insulating disc 22 of press-spahn with contacts 32 for the cells 28 and similar partition walls 23 between the cells, having lugs 27 engaging slots in a lower insulating disc 36 with contacts 38, disc 36 being retained by spring ring 39.
