Abstract

478,417. Cooling motors. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE AKT..GES. July 15, 1937, No. 19677. Convention date, July 17, 1936. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXVI] Cooling air is drawn through the motor of an electrically driven ceiling fan, wherein the motor consists of an inner stator 3 and an outer rotor 5 carrying the main fan blades 2. The electrical parts of the rotor are supported on the rotor casing by blade members 6 acting as fans. The blades 2 are mounted oh carriers 10 which are hollow or provided with ducts for the cooling air, and the carriers are secured by screws 15 which also connect the parts of the motor casing 7. In a modification, the ducts are independent of the carriers and the auxiliary blades project beyond the motor casing. The air inlet openings 11, 12 are covered by screws 13, and part of the air may be supplied through the hollow support 4. Fan blades may be fitted on the short-circuiting rings on the rotor, or on the ends of the rotor. The motor windings may be embedded in a moulded or cement mass containing heat-conducting dust or powder such as quartz grains.
