Abstract

772,973. Cooling dynamo-electric machines. PARVEX. Aug. 2, 1955 [Dec. 30, 1954], No. 22176/55. Class 35. A machine has the stator core in two axially separated parts between which is a central air inlet, the air being circulated by a fan or fans on the machine shaft but outside the machine casing. As shown, the member 12 separating the stator halves has inlets for the air which passes to the outlets 18, 19 under the suction of fan blades 22, 28. In another form the air entering at the centre is joined by air entering at the left-hand end of the machine and passes to the right-hand end where the single fan of the machine is disposed. A stationary shroud for the fan(s) may be provided.
