Abstract

761,583. Centrifugal Mowers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and PAGE, B. H. March 3, 1955 [March 3, 1954], No. 6248/54. Class 110 (1). [Also in Groups VI, XI and XXXV] An electric blower such as a hair drier comprises an electric motor of the induction type carrying an impeller 4 of the centrifugal type and a casing 1 splitting into two parts in a plane transverse to the axis of the motor and having a nozzle outlet tangential to the blades of the impeller, the motor having an internal rotor 14 and an external stator 9 mounted independently of each other on one half of the moulded plastic casing. The rotor 14 is mounted on a spindle 13 supported at one end only, being moulded into a pillar on one half of the casing, which also has moulded therein three internal pillars carrying screws 11 for mounting the stator 9 around the cast aluminium rotor. The motor is of the squirrel cage induction type. The casing halves are almost mirror images, but the half not carrying the motor and fan has an air inlet centred about the axis of the motor. The casing halves are joined by screws 24.
