Abstract

613,230. Air blowers and hair dryers. YOUNGER, A. R. June 11, 1946, No. 17481. [Class 81(ii)] [Also in Group XXVI] Dryers, particularly for the hair, comprise a casing 6 housing two coaxial centrifugal fans 24, 25 separated by a partition 23 and driven by an induction motor 15, the air being drawn in axially through openings 16, 21 in the opposite surfaces of the casing and delivered tangentially over heaters which may be in or out of circuit. The motor may be attached to the casing by a flange 18 spaced from it by spaced radial ribs 19 which allow access of air to the space 20 and the inside of the motor. The casing may be in two-handed parts, one being provided with electric switches 13 and a circular aperture having a guard 22..The fan blades are supported by external rings 26 and 27.
