Abstract

865,509. Cooling dynamo-electric machines. TORNADO A.G. July 3, 1959 [July 10, 1958], No. 22996/59. Class 35. An electrical suction cleaner having a motor 3 within a casing 4 and placed centrally inside a cleaner housing 1 has ventilation ducts 17, 18 leading from casing to housing so that cooling air may flow from the surrounding air through the motor without any dust contamination. The duct 17 communicates with a hollow handle 2 fixed to the casing and having holes 24 to the outside air. A fan 28 on the motor shaft draws air in through duct 18 through the motor and out through duct 17, flow of air outside the motor being prevented by sealing ring 29 between casing 4 and motor frame 5.
