Abstract

881,440. Mounting electric motors. ENGINEERING ARTS Ltd. July 27, 1960 [July 27, 1959], No. 25620/59. Class 35. [Also in Group XXVI] The electric driving motor 12 of a fan is shielded from the hot or contaminated air or gases being handled by being carried within a streamlined pocket 11 projecting inwardly from an opening 10a in the side of the fan casing 10. The motor is bolted to a flat end 1 1a of the pocket. A baffle or baffles may be fitted within the pocket to ensure efficient operation of the cooling fan of the motor. It is stated to be known to enclose the driving motor of a fan within a transverse casing passing completely through an enlarged circular portion of the fan casing.
