Abstract

1,107,270. Centrifugal fans. NORDISK VENTILATOR CO. A/S. Sept. 6, 1966 [Sept.8, 1965], No.39861/66. Heading F1C. In a centrifugal fan comprising a drum-type impeller having radially shallow blades 3 carried by a central disc 5, a flared inlet nozzle 9 at one or both ends of the impeller is carried by the impeller instead of the volute casing and forms an end ring of the impeller. The maximum diameter of each nozzle 9 is greater than the diameter of the inlet opening of the adjacent side wall 7 of the casing, and the casing is divided on, e. g., an axial plane to permit removal of the impeller. Where the nozzle 9 remote from the driving motor 1 is located partly outside the casing as shown, it is sufficient to remove one part only of the divided casing. The impeller is then moved axially to the left to free its hub 10 from the motor shaft 2, whereupon it can be tilted to bring the right-hand nozzle 9 clear of the remaining part of the casing.
