Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce air loss of cooling air along with higher cooling effect by axially separating the space between the magnetic poles into three chambers with two partition each provided therebetween so that the ventilation duct is opened only on the central chamber. CONSTITUTION:Two each of partitions 10 are arranged at the space between salient-pole magnetic poles 2 extended outward from the rotor rim to separate the space between the magnetic poles axially into three chambers 11 and 13 whereby the ventilation duct 9 is communicated to the central chamber 12. This permits cooling air to flow into the chamber 11 and 13 on the shaft end side from the shaft end while another cooling air flows into the central chamber 12. But the partition 10 keeps these cooling airs from converging thereby preventing the air loss associated with the flow loss. Thus, as required amount of cool air can be obtained, the fan power can be reduced.
