Abstract
713,375. Cooling dynamo - electric machines. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. May 13, 1952 [May 15, 1951], No. 12104/52. Class 35 Two fans in series are placed between an end cover and the stator core end and the stationary baffles which guide the air emerging from the first fan into the inlet of the second fan are of such dimensions as to allow the rotor and fans to be readily withdrawn. In the form shown, the second fan is constituted by blades 18 mounted directly on the rotor but in another form both fans are mounted directly on the rotor shaft. The air leaving the second fan may be passed through the air gap and through axial stator ducts instead of leaving by apertures 25.
