Abstract
383,674. Cooling dynamo - electric machines. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Aug. 27, 1931, No. 24152. Convention date, Sept. 15, 1930. [Class 35.] Casings.-An open-type machine having the air drawn in through the opening 18 in each end bracket, circulated over the end windings 23, and passed out through the opening 15 by a fan 20 at each end of the machine, is converted into the drip-proof type by fitting a hood 25 over the opening 15 so that it shields the openings and guides the outlet air over the stator external surface. The hood may be arranged to lock the nuts on the bolts 14 which hold the end brackets 13 against the sheet-metal casing. The fan may have auxiliary blades 21 for circulating internal air which may pass through axial ducts 24 in the rotor.
