Abstract
404,277. Cooling dynamo-electric machines. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and ORSETTICH, R., c/o General Electric Co., Witton, Birmingham. July 5, 1932, No. 19012. [Class 35.] Air is drawn over the armature, field-magnets, &c. of a dynamo by a fan which then passes it through tubes arranged between and spaced from the poles to an enclosing diaphragm of conducting material where it is cooled by the .outer air through the diaphragm. In the arrangement shown the fan 18 draws air between the poles 1 and through axial passages 14, 12 in the commutator and armature and radial passages 13 in the armature and delivers it to a space behind a partition 20 from which tubes 22 pass to the commutator end of the machine which is enclosed by a thin diaphragm 24.
