Abstract
282,005. Uggla, W. R. Dec. 7, 1926, [Convention date]. Dynamos and motors, cooling and ventilating. -To convert a machine of the type having a split outer casing and provided with an axial ventilating system into one cooled through a stationary shell, two inner end covers are mounted over the stator and rotor windings, these being divided axially so that they may be mounted in position without removing the bearings or bearing shields. In the form shown, the end covers 5, 6 are divided along a diameter and are secured to the shell 3 in the machine and provided on their outer or inner surfaces, or both, with cooling ribs 9 and projections 8. The cooling air, which normally enters the unconverted machine through an inlet 2 and passes axially to an outlet 4 under the action of a fan 1, passes over the outer surfaces of the covers 5, 6 and the shell 3. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use of undivided end covers, each made in one piece. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
