Convention date, June 7, 1932. Drawings to Specification. [Class 38 (ii)] A composite current transformer comprises two or more transformers with their primaries and secondaries connected in series, at least one of the transformers being provided with premagnetization and each having a different current range in which minimum error occurs, the range of minimum error of one not coinciding with that of any of the others. In this way the range of minimum error is extended. The separate transformers may have cores of the same material or of different materials, a particular example being a nickel-iron core for the transformer with minimum error in the lower current range and a silicon-iron core for the transformer with minimum error in the upper current range. Specifications 286,431, [Class 38 (ii)], and 366,512 are referred to.
