Abstract

464,124. Transformers. B R I T I S H THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. July 9, 1935, No. 19613. Void. Convention date, July 13, 1934. [Class 38 (ii)] Relates to an arrangement for eliminating harmonics, particularly the third, in a transformer. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the transformer has an additional delta connected secondary winding 3, 4, 5 which may be used to supply a load. In series in each phase are chokes 6, 7, 8 which are magnetically interlinked so as to be non-inductive to the fundamental. In a modification of this, the chokes have secondary windings which are shortcircuited through each other. In a further modification, Fig. 3, in which the transformer has a star-connected secondary 21, starconnected chokes 22, 23, 24 are connected across the windings, the neutrals being connected together. Associated with the chokes are windings 25, 26, 27 which are connected in open delta and short-circuited through a choke 28.
