Abstract

472,521. Transformers. MULLER, J. Feb. 19, 1937, No. 5055. Convention date, Feb. 19, 1936. [Classes 38 (ii) and 38 (iv)] A transformer for supplying a variable voltage comprises two cores a, b having primary and secondary windings W1, W2, and W<1>1, W<1>2 of different transformation ratios, the primary windings and the secondary windings being connected in series, each core being provided with a tertiary winding. W3, W<1>3 which is short-circuited through a resistance R, adjustment of which effects voltage regulation. In a modification the windings W3, W<1>3 are connected in series across a resistance. In a further modification a single winding W3 embracing both cores may be used. In a further modification the winding W3 is supplied from an additional source of A.C. Specifications 322,500, 322,775, [both in Class 38 (ii)], and 364,644 are referred to.
