Abstract
479,112. Phase changing. SOC. SAVOI-, SIENNE DE CONSTRUCTIONS ELECTRIQUES. April 27, 1936, No. 11932. Convention date, May 2, 1935. [Class 38 (ii)] In a balancing and compensating arrangement for supplying a single phase load from a three phase supply, the single phase load, which may comprise the primary winding of a single phase welding transformer T, is connected across two terminals 2, 3 of the three phase supply, an auto-transformer A being connected between the third supply terminal 1 and the load and acting as a balancing inductance or having such an inductance S connected in parallel, and a balancing capacity C being connected between the auto-transformer and the terminal 2. The auto-transformer A may be connected to the primary winding at the terminal 3, or to a fixed or variable point of this winding. The primary winding may be connected to the terminal 3 through tap changing means.
