Abstract

418,543. Overload release clutches. HARRISON, J., 36, West Park Avenue, Kew Gardens, Surrey. Dec. 5, 1933, No. 34132. [Class 80 (ii).] An overload release clutch for use between the co-axial shafts of the engine and gear box of a motor vehicle comprise a member 4 secured to the flywheel or to the driven members of the main clutch with teeth 5 engaging with teeth 6 on a member 7 slidably mounted on the driven shaft 8. The teeth 5 and 6 are held in engagement by a spring 9 and the inclination of the said teeth is such that slipping occurs at a predetermined torque.
