419,513. Clutches; facilitating change of speed. PIVIERI, C., 7, Route Nationale, Barbizon, Seine-et-Marne, France. May 17, 1934, No. 14912. [Class 80 (ii).] A free-wheel clutch arranged between the driven plate 4 of the engine friction clutch of a motor vehicle and the input shaft of the gear box comprises a sleeve 1 secured to the plate 4 and having an internal rapid thread engaging the external thread of a sleeve 6 mounted freely on a sleeve 11 splined on the said shaft. During drive, the threads co-operate to produce frictional engagement between flanges 8 and 15 on the sleeves 6 and 11 respectively, the sleeve 1 abutting against a nut 16 locked on the sleeve 11. A spring 18 tends to maintain engagement.
