Abstract

417,192. Thermionic valves. NORTH LONDON VALVE & B.U.R.T.S., Ltd., Stoneham Road, and THOMAS, A. E. F., 125, Upper Clapton Road, both in Clapton, London. March 31, 1933, No. 9736. [Class 39 (i).] An electrostatic screen for a valve consists of carbon mixed with gum tragacanth and applied to the envelope ; this screen is connected to the cathode. To protect this screen it may be covered by an insulating coating consisting of aluminium mixed with an insulating binding material such as nitro-cellulose ; both coatings may be applied by a paint spray.
