[Class 37.] A high ohmic resistance which is formed as a thin layer of carbon or metal upon an insulating carrier and has a varnish coating is further provided with an intermediate coating which adheres slightly to the resistance layer for the purpose of providing greater protection against deterioration of the resistivity factor. A cellulose or other varnish containing a high proportion of non-binding filler may constitute the intermediate coating.
