Abstract

519,042. Luminescent materials. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and WOLFSON, H. Sept. 13, 1938, No. 26705. [Class 39 (i)] The blackening of fluorescent metal sulphide, especially zinc and cadmium sulphide', screens for cathode-ray tubes, is prevented by the addition of sodium or potassium thiosulphate. An aqueous solution of the thiosulphate may be applied to the glass and dried, the metal sulphide dusted on, and the whole baked at 200‹-450‹C., the thiosulphate acting as a binder.
