[Class 44.] A seal padlock A is provided with a sliding plate D and a fixed plate E which supports a sheet of paper extending across the keyslot e. A pin G is secured to the plate D and slides between the end of the casing A and a shoulder c<2> provided on the plate E. This pin is outside the shackle B and holds the plate D until the shackle is lifted. The top portion of the plate E is flanged forwardly to leave the space in which the pin G slides. The latter may be screwed into the plate D and the head of the screw afterwards filed off. In a modification, a lug on the plate D is bent over the top of the lock case, and has a hole through which the end of the shackle passes to hold the plate D. In a further arrangement, the plate D slides vertically, and the pin G is held by a hook on the pivot end of the shackle, when the latter is in the locked position.
