Abstract

522,639. Shutter fastenings. HIRSCHHORN, C. Dec. 16, 1938, No. 36673. [Class 44] A roller-shutter is secured by a captive bolt 9, shown as of flat formation, which hangs vertically from a bracket 7 when out of use. The bolt is mounted by means of a pin 11 passing through a slot 10 with off-set 12 in the bolt, and the bracket is mounted on the fixed shutter guide 2. In use, the bolt is raised to horizontal position and passed through registering slots 8, 13 in bracket 7 and shutter lath 1 respectively. The lath may be strengthened by a metal plate 14. In fastening position an aperture 15 in the bolt registers with an aperture 16 in a lug 17 on the bracket to receive the shackle of a padlock. A modification is described for use with a metal shutter-guide secured to brick work.
