Abstract
553,784. Cycle locks. SMITH, G. V. Dec. 11, 1942, No. 17627. [Class 79 (iii)] A locking device to prevent theft comprises a bent bar C, H pivoted at E to a segmental plate B secured to one limb of the cycle fork A. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the hasp of a padlock can be passed through either of two holes F, f to lock the bar in either the locking position shown in full lines or the normal position shown in broken lines. In a modification the plate B may be formed with a keycontrolled lock engaged by a catch on the arm H of the bar, and the bar may be held in its idle position by a spring catch.
