509,649. Fastenings. WILSON GAS METERS, Ltd., G., and JOHNSON, S. Sept. 22, 1938, No. 19626. [Class 44] A locking device for containers comprises a magnet-responsive spring-urged bolt 16, slidably mounted in a projecting non-magnetic housing 17 and a coacting pin element 13, which may be inserted through an eye on one part of the container to be locked, to hold a hinged hasp in the closed position. The device is opened by a key in the form of a permanent magnet 20, having an opening therein to receive the projecting housing 17, a polepiece 21 extending down the interior of the same. For accommodating different lengths of housing 17 the piece 21 may carry a slidable spring-urged polepiece.
