Abstract

409,418. Ships' hatches. MACGREGOR, R., and MAcGREGOR & KING, Ltd., 5, Lloyds Avenue, London. Nov. 10, 1932, No. 31781. [Class 113 (i).] The hatch cover comprises telescoping flattopped hatch sections 3, 4, the higher sections 3 embracing the low sections at the hatch coaming where the high sections are provided with wheels 2 which run on tracks carried by the coaming. Arrangements are made for coupling the telescoped sections so that they may be transported together ; the pin 5 passes through the flanges 17, 12, Fig. 4, at one end of the cover and the latch 6, Fig. 3, locks them together at the other end. Packing arrangements are described in connection with the abutting-edges of the cover sections with each other and with the coaming. Specification 337,975, [Class 113 (i)], is referred to.
