Abstract

317,219. Humphrey & Grey (Lighterage), Ltd., and Palmer, W. C. Aug. 3, 1928. Hatch covers for hatches fitted with fixed fore and aft beams 10 comprise sections 17 the outer ends 9 of which fit between channel members 8 secured to the hatch coaming whilst the inner ends abut on the beams 10 and are secured bv beams 11 carried by pivoted links 12 in such fashion as to permit the beams 11 to abut to free the sections 17 and to take over the ends of the sections and lock same when the beams 10 are moved asunder. In the locking position, the beams 11 are fastened by links 18. Fig. 5, pivoted at 17 to one. beam and slotted at the free end to engage a stud 21 on the other beam. Associated with the link is a slotted tongue member 24 which takes over the projection 22 and is secured by a padlock.
