Abstract
285,628. Macfarlane, R. Jan. 19, 1927. Hatches.-In a sectional hatch which may be subdivided by hatch beams, the sections d are dropped into position, are given a slight lateral movement and are secured against upward displacement by end projections which take under irons secured to the coaming and hatch beams f which as well as the coamings are furnished with rest bars g. When all the hatch sections are in position, the structure is locked by sectional bars l, l<1>, l<2>, the centre one of which is cut away to leave projections k whilst the outer members are cut in complementary fashion to leave projections h which take into recesses cut in the hatch beams. These outer members are provided with hasps o secured by a padlock q.
