Abstract

480,876. Hatches. HINDMARSH, J. Oct. 1, 1936, No. 26642. [Class 113 (i)] The end of the hatch beam 3 has slot in the upper flange and web, into which is inserted a U-shaped plate 6, formed with lower flanges 7. When this plate is in its lower position it encloses a cleat 9 on the hatch coaming, thus positioning the beam. When raised it receives the end of a bar 12, which, supported on a trolley 10 enables the beam to be transported along the hatchway.
