Abstract
392,703. Metal boats. MECHANS, Ltd. and MOYES, J. Y., Scotstoun Iron Works, Glasgow. March 14, 1932, No. 7469. [Class 113 (ii).] In metal boats bending of the shell plates A at their junction with the keel is eliminated by welding them to angles C which are secured on either side of the keel B. In a modification, the angles G alone constitute the keel. The abutting transverse edges of the shell plating may be flanged inwardly to present an outside smooth surface; alternatively, transverse frames may be used. Specifications 197,175, [Class 113 (ii), Ships &c., Kinds &c. of], and 350,536 are referred to.
