[Class 135.] Valves actuated indirectly.-An arrangement for automatically cutting off the supply of gas from a gas valve or cock 3 to a flexible pipe or hose coupling 6 when the hose is disengaged from the cock, either accidentally or otherwise, comprises a bowed or U-shaped lever 4 attached to a rotatable auxiliary valve 1 mounted in the cock-nipple 2. The lever 4 engages the interior surface of the coupling member 6 so that when the coupling is pulled off, the lever is rotated from the position shown at 5 to the other position marked 5, and the valve or cock 1 is closed.
