Abstract

Valves controlled by pilot or relay valves closure members. - A valve device, particularly applicable for use as a supply or drain valve on washing machines of the kind actuated by a piston or the like and provided with a pilot valve to . facilitate opening has the lower part of the casing a provided with a detachable cover plate m adapted to provide a guide socket m<1> for the lower end l<2> of the valve spindle i. The main valve comprises a disc e secured to a valve member e<1> having a peripheral flange e<2> by a nut k screwed to a tubular boss e<3>notched at e<4>. The nut has a notched edge and is provided with guide wings k<1> engaging the seat opening. The pilot valve is mounted on the spindle i and co-operates with a flange e<5> on the main valve. The actuating cylinder f is mounted on a boss f<1> on the casing and contains a piston g acted on by a spring j and connected to the spindle i which is provided with a collar adapted to engage the notched end of the boss e<3>. The pressure on top of the actuating piston is controlled by a three-way cock. The exhaust and the underside of the piston may be connected with the main outlet. The top of the cylinder may be fitted with a removable cover provided with a push button packed by a flexible diaphragm for manually actuating the main or pilot valves.
