285,853. Wardlaw, Sir H. Feb. 23, 1927, [Convention date]. Loose-ball valves.- In a screw actuated ball lift valve the ball F is pushed away from its seating into a tubular housing D containing a spring E for returning it to its seating. A cage I secured by the screwed cap K holds a resilient seating H in position in the valve casing. The housing D may be integral, as shown, or formed on a detachable bottom cover; or alternatively it may be disposed in a vertical inlet connection in line with the valve spindle.
