Abstract

286,526. Steensen, S. J. June 14, 1927. Cistern supply valves.-A float-operated valve comprises a tubular body portion 9 with an enlarged piston head 8 and a conical seating shoulder 11. Water in the supply branch 3 has access to the piston head in a chamber 2 closed by a screw cap 7. Lateral discharge openings 10 below the conical shoulder 11 serve to throttle the supply gradually as the valve closes. The float 16 is provided with a screw plug 17 enabling it to be charged with sufficient water to bring the float lever 14 to the horizontal position.
