[Class 135.] Valves actuated indirectly.-A safety cutoff valve for automatically stopping the supply of gas to cooking appliances when the gas tube becomes detached from the connecting nipple comprises a cock plug 3 provided with a spring-loaded operating- lever arm 4 fitted with a cross-arm 6 which rests on the detachable gas tube 7 in the open position of the cock, as shown. When the lever arm 4 is turned back to the closed position it is biased to that position by reason of the curved construction shown.
