Abstract

386,706. Thermionic cathodes. LIGNOSE HORFILM SYSTEM BREUSING GES., 32, Lindenstrasse, Berlin. Aug. 21, 1931, No. 23612. Convention date, Aug. 21, 1930. [Class 39 (i).] In a thermionic tube, particularly a cathode - ray tube, the magnetic effect of the cathode beating current on the electron stream is reduced by forming the filament in the shape of a figure 8 open at the bottom. In a modification, Fig. 5, the cathode P consists of two coaxial coils in series arranged so that their magnetic fields oppose each other.. An auxiliary cylinder C may be disposed round the filament and may have a fixed or variable potential applied to it; the variable potential may be superposed on a high frequency. Theleads may be twisted together.
