Abstract

371,129. Washing gases. DAVIDSON & CO., Ltd., of Sirocco Engineering Works, Belfast, and TRILL, J. C., Lynston, Clifton Road, Coulsdon, Surrey. March 18, 1931, No. 8379. [Class 55 (ii).] In the removal of dust from gases by washing, the air passes through an annulus 2 surrounding the water pipe, wherein a rotary motion is imparted to it by helical blades 3, to a spraying chamber 1 fitted with conical baffles 6, 8. An assemblv of such units to form a complete apparatus is shown in Fig. 5. The rotary motion may also be produced by passing the air through a tangential inlet and chemical reagents may be used for spraying instead of water.
