Abstract
555,528. Washing air and gases. DALLOW, LAMBERT & CO., Ltd., and DALLOW, J. E. March 30, 1942, No. 4205. [Class 55 (ii)] Air to be purified is blown or drawn through a conduit 15, the end of which is provided with a horizontal extension 16 partially submerged in a liquid (water) bath, the impact of the air displacing a quantity of water which is directed downwards by deflectors 17 to form cascades through which the air passes for removal of dust and other impurities. The cleansed air passes to the top of the casing 1 and to an outlet 14 leading to a fan by which the air is drawn through the device. An inspection window 29 is provided and a lamp 30 for illuminating the interior. Fig. 6 shows a modification in which the air enters the duct 16 tangentially.
