Abstract
199,781. Ewart, J. W. March 22, 1922. Air, moistening &c.-In apparatus for purifying air for ventilation of the kind in which air is forced or drawn by a fan through a series of vertical perforated discs a arranged to rotate on a horizontal axis d in a tank e containing water, the discs are rotated by the water supplied to the tank from nozzles h which direct the water into buckets g carried on the edges of the discs. The discs may rotate in opposite directions as shown or in the same direction. The lower end of the tank e is fitted with a discharge pipe i having a cock i<1> and a removable gauze slide is arranged above the discharge opening to arrest large particles of dirt. Liquid deodoriser, contained in a vessel k, is supplied to the water in the tank e through a pipe l having a cock which is operated intermittently by a star-wheel m, the arms of which are engaged by a pin n on one of the discs a.
