Abstract
406,735. Purifying liquids. PATERSON ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and SMALLEY, W., Windsor House, Kingswav, London. Sept. 2, 1932, No. 24554. [Class 46.] Liquid is drawn off from the reaction tank a of water-softening or like apparatus through a receptacle h in the upper part of the tank and a valve n which is controlled by a float o according to the liquid level in the receptacle so as to prevent air passing into the outlet pipe. In the apparatus shown liquid and reagent are supplied through pipes c, d respectively to a central vertical pipe b fitted with mixing paddles e and the treated liquid overflows through an annular trough f to the receptacle h. From the receptacle h the liquid passes under gravity or is drawn by a pump k to a filter l.
