Abstract
481,705. Paper - making machines ; re-use of white water. V. J. B. APPARATEBAU-GES. May 21, 1937, Nos. 14165, 14166, and 14167. Convention dates, June 9, 1936, July 13, 1936, and Aug. 7, 1936. [Class 96] [Also in Group XXVIII] In apparatus for making paper, cardboard or the like in which the waste water containing pulp is utilized for cleaning purposes, such as for spraying the wire cloth used in the production of paper, particles of pulp are prevented from being deposited in the pipes through which the waste water flows and in the spraying tubes by imparting a whirling motion to the water therein. The whirling motion may be produced by introducing the water into the pipes or spraying tubes in a tangential direction, e.g. by means of the device shown in Fig. 3, or by means of a device driven mechanically. from the outside such as is shown in Fig. 2. In the apparatus shown in Fig. 3, the water passes through a pipe 27 into an annular chamber 28, the eddying water then enters a conical chamber 29 and finally enters the spraying tube 5 ; a partition 30 disposed along a helical line may separate the chambers 28, 29. In the apparatus shown in Fig. 2 a suction worm 16 and a pressure worm 17 are arranged at the ends of the spraying tube 5, the worms 16, 17 being rotated by water turbines 20, 21 respectively, and each turbine being driven by streams of water led off from the spraying tube.
