Abstract
445,322. Centrifugal gas cleaners. MARTIN, J., 14, Montsalvatstrasse, Munich, Germany. July 4, 1935, No. 19152. Convention date, July 9, 1934. [Class 23] Dust is extracted from gases during their flow in a curved pipe and is conducted away by a stream of water passing over the wall of the pipe. The gases enter the straight or curved limb 2, 3 of a U-tube and pass round the tongue 5 to the outlet 6. Guides 9, 10, 11 are used in the limb 2 to subdivide the gas stream. Opposite the tongue 5 where the change of direction occurs in the flow, the dust particles, which are thrown to the outer wall, meet a stream of water passing along the wall from the gutter 7 to the gutter 13. If desired water may also flow, in the same direction as the dust, from the gutter 12 to the gutter 13. The surfaces over which the water passes may be constructed of absorbent porous material or may be corrugated.
