Abstract

345,120. Centrifugal gas cleaners. SIMMEN, O., Erlach, Switzerland. April 11, 1930, No. 11508. Convention date, June 10, 1929. [Class 23.] Density separators.-In order to clean the gas passing through a centrifugal fan or blower having an impeller b, the casing is divided by a partition c into two concentric spiral conduits, each provided with a trap for the solid particles. Each conduit receives the gas from half the impeller ; the trap g in the outer conduit discharges into the outlet pipe l and the trap h in the inner conduit communicates with tubes k connected to the pipe l on each side of the casing. The trap h is stream-lined to reduce eddy currents.
