Abstract
323,658. Lee, E. L., and George, C. H. L. Jan. 17, 1929. Fan apparatus; casings; impeller blades.-An axial flow blower has a casing, of which one part 11 is cylindrical and the other part 12 is conical, the impeller and its driving motor 14 being supported inside the casing near the junction of the two parts. Blades 16 are arranged in groups round the periphery of the impeller; as shown, each group contains three blades. A fixed centre piece 17 extends through the conical part 12 of the casing and a portion of the cylindrical part 11. Guide vanes 18 are fixed between the centre piece 17 and the casing, and the internal diameter of the casing is reduced on the intake side of the impeller as shown at 19. Air enters the part 11 of the casing and is discharged by the impeller through the passages formed by the guide vanes 18 to the outlet 21. The motor and the impeller can be moved axially to adjust the rate of delivery.
